Chanya Longley, is the Founder and Executive Director of BeHappy Living, Inc., a California non-profit (IRS 501(c)(3) Devoted to Practicing Vipassana meditation since the 1997 she has also served as a Trustee for the Vipassana Southern California Centers for many years. Developing the new accommodations at the center in 29 Palms, Chanya has developed a strong service of devotion towards charitable work. She is driven to help others by donating money, food and necessities to hungry and the homeless for most of her life. In 2014, Chanya and her husband Jay Longley had portable showers built for the homeless to shower in Santa Ana, California. In 2013, Chanya and her husband had a custom 11,000 sq. ft. home built in Temecula, California nestled among 15 acres of avocado and citrus trees. Realizing so many changes within herself and others from meditation, she was drawn to make the facility available to the teaching of Parriyatti and Pali workshops, to enable other a deeper understanding. Pali workshops such as these are very important to develop inspiration and understanding of the practice and to grow within. She also hosted her facility to conduct Vipassana meditation course so children also learn to meditate. She was inspired by the change and awareness that these practices were given to others. It is her vision to make her home available, and to donate the money to this and other organizations that develop a happy, healthy mind, body and soul.
